1. I have 2 4Tb hard disk in a dell computer. If I just install the windows 2008, the harddisk can be picked up however you can only utilize 2Tb on each, which is not accetable. 2. To install 2008 on anything bigger than 2Tb, firstly I use dell on board utility- intel rapid storage technology to create 2 virtual hard disk, since this server will be a hyper V server, i create 200Gb for 1 Disk, rest (7800Gb roughly) as the second virtual hard disk. 3. Before you install 2008, you need to go to this website http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/sftwr-prod/imsm, downlaod the driver and copy it to a usb disk. to download the RAID driver. Otherwise the virtual hard disk settings wont be picked up, And when you are installing the windows 2008, when it ask for the RAID driver, insert the usb disk, install the driver, then the virtual hard disk will be picked up, the rest are the same.
