1. Preparation:

    1. You need find out which version of MAC you are using, to determine what Windows version you can install on you MAC. Here is the link to find out which MAC version is your MAC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634
    1. After you find out the corresponding  Windows version and boot camp version, go to MAC site( http://support.apple.com/downloads/#macoscomponents). to download Bootcamp, do not use the Bootcamp inside MAC OS X to download it, too slow. The Bootcamp you downloaded will be a ZIP file, you need unzip it and also unzip all the drivers inside to use them for MDT. If you don’t unzip each driver file individually,  MDT cant pick them up.
    1. To prepare the Windows System, you can use windows disk or use a WIM you captured directly from WDS if you have customized system ready. In my case I use a installation WIM from my WDS. If you don’t have WDS, you can use a windows 7 64bit/32bit installation disk.

  1. Server Side

    1. Install MDT 2012:
      1. Install MDT 2012 on WDS server, download MDT 2012 from here, http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=25175, install MDT.  if net.3.5  error is showing, go to server manager, enable framework 3.5 from features.
    1. Create Deployment Share:
      1. After installation, start Deployment Workbench, go to Deployment Shares->New Deployment Share-> Setup the Path you want to save the Deployment Share->Next, Put the Share Name->Next, Description->Next,->tick all-> Next-Next-Next->Finish.
      1. Import Installation The new Deployment Share is ready. It should be listed under Deployment Shares, now we can add image into the share.

  1. Import Operating System

    1. Right click on Operation Systems ->Import Operating System, you can pick Full set of source files if you want install a vanilla windows 7/8, or choose Custom image file for WIM you had on WDS server, I have WDS server in place, so I choose second option and locate my installation WIM for it. -> Next.
    1. Specify operating system setup files, because the installation WIM is not included here, you need choose the second operation, Copy Windows Vista…… From the specified path, then point it to the setup source directory, which is the windows image disk or windows image folder. In my case I have ISO of windows 7 64bit, I unzipped it to a folder and pointed it to that folder, next.
    1. Make a name for it. ->Next->Next->Finish.
    1. After this, the image should be listed under Operating Systems. Now we can add drivers.
  1. Add driver.

    1. You can choose install drivers one by one manually if you want, however still you need add the NIC driver for apple otherwise the installation will fail. So it is highly recommended we add all the drivers right now and let MDT 2012 to do the labour.
    2. To add driver, go to the BootCamp folder we made from Preparation, go to Driver, go to each folder and unzip each driver installation file. To do this, I installed WinRAR and right click the driver installation file->Extract to <fileName>. The Broadcom folder is the NIC driver for my apple in my case, I must import that. Also there is a WINPE folder, make sure you have all WINPE driver imported.
    3. After finish unzipping, go to Deployment WorkBench->Deployment Shares-><Your Share>->Out-of-Box Drivers-> right cick on Out-of-Box Drivers->Import Drivers or create new folder if you want to category the drivers, in my case, I only use MDT for MAC, so I import Drivers directly.  -> Locate the BootCamp Driver folder->Next, it will list all the servers inside BootCamp Driver folder->Next->Finish.
  1. Create Bootable ISO for MAC.

    1. Right click on <your Share>, Properties->Windows PE->Drivers and Patches, by default it includes Network Drivers.-> OK.
    1. Right click on <your Share>,Update Deployment Share, this will update the Bootble ISO to include all the drivers we imported. After it finished, go to the <your share> physic folder, ->boot, find the LiteTouchPE_x64 ISO, burn it to a disk. We are almost done.
  1. Create Task Sequences for Installation.

    1. Right Click Task Sequence -> New Task Sequence->Task sequence ID->Name-> Next->Standard Client Task Sequence-
    1. Select OS-> the Operting System we created-> Next.
    1. Do not Specify a product key at this time, in my case I use KMS. ->Next
    2. OS settings-> Fill information->Next
    3. Specify the administrator Password->Next
    4. Next->Next->Finish.
  1. Customize disk format in Task Sequence for MAC.

    1. Right click on the task sequence we just created->Properties.
    2. Task Sequence->Preinstall->New Computer Only->left Click on Format and Partition Disk->Remove.
    3. Now we will create a scripts for format the disk with command. Go to <your share> folder->Scripts->create a MacFormatLion.txt, edit it into:

SELECT DISK 0
SELECT PARTITION 4
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="BOOTCAMP" QUICK
ASSIGN LETTER=C
ACTIVE
EXIT

    1. Remember, if it is Leopard or Snow Leopard change PARTITION 4 to PARTITION 3. For Lion or Mountain Lion use Partition 4.

    2. Once you create the MacFormatLion.txt file, you need to insert a Run Command into your task sequence where the old Format command was, and I believe you want it to say: diskpart.exe /s MacFormatLion.txt

    3. Customize Install Operation System option to choose the right partition.

    1. Go to Install->Install Operating System-> Chnge the Logical drive letter Stored in a variable into Specify disk and partition, choose Disk 0, partition 4 for Lion and Disk 0 partition 3 for Leopard.
  1. Server side is DONE.

  1. Client Side,

    1. Login MAC, find BootCamp Assistant. Create BootCamp, make sure you have windows 7 disk in the CD-DRIVE
    1. Do not download drivers since we have done that.
    1. Once finished the creating, the system will restart, hold Option key until the Boot Drive Selection Option shows. Replace the Windows 7 Disk into Light Touch Bootable Disk we created above, wait it to be loaded then select it, press a key to start WINPE.
    2. Rest are easy. However, if you do get error message like below, here are the solutions.
      1. No NIC driver-> make sure you have imported NIC driver from Bootcamp folder, and make sure the disk you created is updated that include that driver.
      1. Cant find the partition->make sure you choose the right partition in both Preinstall and Install.
  1. After the image is ready, you may need manually install the bootcamp application for windows from the Bootcamp folder, run windows update. And this image is ready, you  can actually capture it and re-deploy it to the MDT 2012 to save the hassle next time.
