This is just a workaround for the multiple Master Page SharePoint site.

I am pretty sure many people may want the Home page different from the content pages.

You can make it work with Page Layout however if you want the QuickLaunch part only showed up on content pages not front page, So far you need 2 master pages.

 

Here is what I did:

1. Create sub site for each other pages even they are only one page in it and leave the home page inside the master site.

2. Assign the Home Master page to the main site and Content Master page with quick launch in each sub site.

It is not perfect but it works.
