PDF by default is not showing up on user`s browser, there are 2 ways to make it easier for user to see the PDF on brower.

A. Use Page Viewer so you can set up the width and height for it and also keep the rest of the page consistent with your master page and page layout.

B. Use direct link to show the PDF directly on user`s brower or whatever default they use on client side, i.e. Adobe PDF reader.

1.However, either way we need do following first to enable PDF viewing first.

1.1  Go to SharePoint Central Managment -> Web Application Management -> Select your web application -> General Settings ->  Browser File Handling -> Change "Strict" to "permissive"

fileHandling

1.2. Launch SharePoint 2013 Management Shell:

$web = Get-SPWebApplication("http://<ursite:port>")
$web.AllowedInlineDownloadedMimeTypes.Add("application/pdf")
$web.Update()

2.Now the server side is ready.

2.1.To do it in Page Viewer way, you just insert a page viewer web part into the page and add the PDF link as a page address to it. You can set up the width and length of the webpart so it will show inside the page layout.

2.2.To od it in direct link way, you go to site navigation from site settings, add a link navigation and link it to your PDF file, use browse for internal.
