With ultrabook there are many of them have no NIC nowadays, with the same usb dangle, WDS can not tell all there units are different since the dangle has same MAC address.

To solve this problem, I installed support tools for windows 8.1 to get netdom working on the image first, then put following lines under c:\windows\setup\scripts\setupComplete.cmd

for /f "tokens=1" %%i in ('wmic bios get serialnumber') do if not %%i==SerialNumber (
netdom renamecomputer %computername% /newname:S-%%i /userd:<domain>\admin /passwordd:* /reboot:20 /usero:administrator /passwordo:* /force

This will rename the computer to something like S-<SerialNumber>, so the computer name will be always unique. The good thing of netdom rename computer is, it can rename the computer when it is in domain on both computer and domain server. So you wont have the database mismatching problem. Cheers.
